From Bharuch, the Peanut City of India

Nolen Gur: The Liquid Gold Inside Our Jaggery Kaju Katli Reading From Bharuch, the Peanut City of India 1 minute

Bharuch, on the banks of the Narmada in Gujarat, has earned itself a nickname over generations: ‘the Peanut City od India’. It isn't peanut farming that built this reputation, it's peanut craft. For decades, the finest peanuts grown across Gujarat have been brought to Bharuch, where local expertise in roasting and processing turns them into something special.

At GO DESi, we bring that same Bharuch legacy into our chikki. Our peanuts are roasted 100% in sand. This traditional method uses hot sand as a natural, even medium, letting each peanut roast slowly and uniformly without burning. It locks in natural oils and flavour, giving every peanut its deep, roasted aroma and satisfying crunch, a result no machine roast can quite replicate.

It's a slower way of doing things, one that takes skill and patience passed down through generations of roasters. But it's how chikki was always meant to be made: honest, authentic, full of flavour.
